Losing weight after a pregnancy can be a difficult thing to do for some women. It is natural to want to get back to your old self as soon as possible, but if you start too soon, you can hurt yourself. Take it easy for the first couple of months. When you are ready to get back into shape here are some tips you can use to speed up the process.
Exercise when you are ready
Right after giving birth exercising too much, too soon can be damaging to your health. Start off slow like doing simple stretching and then gradually build up. You can also ask your doctor for exercises you can do, so you do not end up hurting yourself.
Eating healthy
It can take up to 9 months for your body to return to normal. Do not worry about cutting calories. Just eat 5-6 small nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day.
Breast-Feeding
Breast-Feeding is a great way to lose weight. A mom who breastfeed can produce about 850ml of breast milk a day. A breast-feeding mother will have to consume about 500 extra calories a day for her newborn. Eating healthy will also give your child the nutrients they need for a good development.
Getting into a routine
About 2-3 months after giving birth you can look into doing a more intense workout. Eating healthy and working out on a consistent basis will help you lose the weight. It may not be instant, but if you work at it, you will be back to your old self again.
